Survey CAD Technician
KPFF Consulting Engineers provides civil & structural engineering and
surveying services. We are seeking an experienced Survey Technician (minimum
2 years experience) with AutoCAD/Softdesk skills. Field experience desirable
as there may be occasional fieldwork. MicroStation skills desired. Must be
able to work well with others, be task-oriented, and someone who takes
initiative. Valid Oregon driver's license and safe driving record required.
LSIT certification highly desired.
Various responsibilities will include construction staking calculations,
field note reduction and checking, preparation of topographic mapping,
profiles and cross-sections, record map preparation (record of survey,
subdivision map, or parcel map), preparation of legal descriptions for lot
line adjustments, road dedications, easements, assessment districts,
boundary and right-of-way determinations, preparation of A.L.T.A./A.C.S.M.

Survey Crew Leader

The Survey Crew Leader leads a field survey team within the Region 2
Survey Unit and is a member of the Field Group Team responsible for
overall goals, directions and strategies of the Survey Unit. This position
performs field surveys for the development, design, and monumentation of
ODOT facilities. The salary range is $3134-$4630/month+ excellent
benefits. This position is located in Salem, Oregon.
As a Survey Crew Leader you will:
· Lead a two to four person field survey team in the development, design
and monumentation of ODOT facilities.
· Perform detailed surveys using manual and electronic survey equipment,
computers and complex software.
· Obtain the terrain data necessary to produce three dimensional
topographical maps.
· Provide initial staking for transportation projects.
· Responsible for preparing accurate and detailed notes documenting found
evidence and work performed.
· Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently and accurately in
conformance with legal and design requirements.
· Prepare the project base map after surveying is completed and update as
additional work is completed for the project.
· Create digital terrain models for projects using the current survey
software and Inroads software.
· Train co-workers and subordinates to perform the above duties as
appropriate.
Position Qualifications include:
· A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or
Transportation-related Engineering and one year civil engineering or
surveying experience; OR
· An Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or Surveying from a
recognized community college or technical school of engineering and two
and one-half years of engineering or surveying experience. One year of
this experience must have been working independently or as a senior member
of a team or work group; OR
· Four years of para-professional engineering or surveying experience. One
year of this experience must have been working independently or as a
senior member of a team or work group; OR
· An equivalent combination of education and experience.
