    DEA is hiring a Regional Survey Manager to oversee the development and growth of our Oregon Region.   This position is located in our Portland, OR office.  The responsibilities for this position will be diverse and will include being the primary owner of the operational metrics and business development activities within the Oregon Region for the Geomatics Center of Excellence (COE).  The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Lead and manage project managers and technical staff on a day-to-day basis
    • Lead business development activity through the support of client managers and staff as needed to develop proposals and secure wins
    • Collaborating with internal business units to assure a one company approach with clients
    • Ensure appropriate staffing and workload balancing for assigned projects and staff; consider available resources, staff skills sets and career development opportunities
    • Support the COE’s project delivery strategic plan (e.g. innovation, delivery methods)
    • Partner with region leadership and management to support employee development and career growth opportunities for project delivery staff
    • Attract, develop and retain key talent; set expectations; manage performance; reward top performance and correct poor performance

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Professional Land Surveyors license in the United States
    • 5+ years managing a survey group or team
    • Capable of managing his/her projects, communicating well with clients and mentoring junior level staff members
    • Strong written and oral communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Professional Land Surveyors license in Oregon
    • Experience working with Oregon Department of Transportation or other local agencies
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field
