    We are seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor to lead our Survey Department. You will oversee completion of survey projects for boundary, topographic, ALTA surveys, subdivisions, partitions, and property descriptions for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee and manage survey department
    • Build customer relationships and grow business
    • Plan, prioritize and direct work for team
    • Mentor and train team members
    • Review projects prior to submission
    • Network with builders, contractors, and industry professionals to engage MSS, Inc and our services to support their projects
    • Manage project timelines and budgets

    Requirements:

    • Licensed land surveyor in Oregon or able to obtain registration with 6 months of employment, licenses in other states would be a plus. • 10+ years of survey and project management experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineer or equivalent experience
    • Excellent time management, project management, planning and organizational skills to guide and motivate team and systematically meet deadlines and goals

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Understanding of both the business and technical requirements of work
    • Proficient with survey equipment, AutoCAD and Microsoft Suite
    • Knowledgeable in the use and operation of survey equipment including Trimble Robotic Total Stations, TSC data collectors, and Trimble GPS units – in support of survey crew
    • Solid understanding of boundary resolution for urban and rural properties, topographic mapping, ALTA standards
    • Ability to review and stamp work
    • Experience preparing legal descriptions
    • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license

    MSS, Inc. primarily works in Oregon and Washington. Other states by request.

    We anticipate a salary between $80,000-$120,000 for this role, depending on experience. There will also be incentives for business growth.
