    • Salary: $64,009 to $64,009 per year
    • Permanent; Full-Time

    Four positions to fill in R6; Willamette & Wallowa-Whitman NFs in OR; Gifford Pinchot & Okanogan-Wenatchee NFs in WA. To be considered for any/all of these positions, make sure to select the locations you are interested in at the time of application.

    Incumbent is responsible for the land surveying aspects of the Forest Service Unit's land line location and land adjustment programs.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as Contracting Officer's Representative on survey projects by inspecting work for compliance with technical surveying and/or contractual requirements.
    • Prepare specifications and review surveying contracts for the unit.
    • Negotiate with private and/or public organizations for contract compliance.
    • Provide technical direction in planning for and arranging the programming for remonumentation of all property and property-controlling corners.
    • Plan all phases of survey work to be accomplished.
    • Conduct survey projects of considerable scope and variety.
    • Direct the execution of survey projects of a complex nature associated with legal and/or engineering areas of concern.
    • Provide guidance to unit management and staff personnel on problems involving boundary disputes.
    • Consult with Registrar of Deeds, County Surveyors, Registered Land Surveyors, property owners, Government officials, and other sources, for record information of previous surveys or data which affect or could affect the location of property lines.
    • Recommend solutions to land disputes involving rectangular public land surveys, patent mining claims, homestead surveys, easements, and/or right-of-way surveys.
    • Interpret and write legal descriptions, prepare plats, and document incident to land surveys.
    • Write survey recommendations for management decisions.
    • Provide survey data to engineering unit and/or survey crews to provide for effective determination of public lands.

    Travel Required
