    Job Description

    We are seeking an experienced and motivated Survey Technician to deliver a wide range of surveying and geomatics projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background in modern and conventional survey methods, including LiDAR, photogrammetry, GPS/TPS, and drone-based mapping. In this role, you will conduct field survey tasks and ensure adherence to internal standards and jurisdictional requirements. You may also contribute to office production tasks such as data processing, traverse adjustments, mapping, legal descriptions, and preparation of deliverables including topographic surveys.     Core Responsibilities

    • Performs and leads Surveying, Mapping, and Geomatic support tasks utilizing LiDAR, photography, drones, GPS technologies, and conventional methods for design mapping, as-built, boundary retracement, and construction staking project tasks.

    • Performs adjustments on total stations, data collectors, levels, compasses, tribrach's, and tripods to ensure equipment complies with the company’s regulatory, safety, quality, and confidentiality protocols and standards.

    • Prepares accurate, complete, timely, and value-added work products, and survey interpretations for assigned clients and stakeholders.

    • Conducts mathematical checks of trigonometry, geometry, coordinate geometry, and basic surveying computations to ensure the accuracy and quality of deliverables.

    • Maintains a functional knowledge of industry best practices in innovative Land Surveying technologies, and methods including LiDAR mapping, photography, drones, GPS technologies, and conventional methods to map, as-built, retracement, and construction staking project tasks.

    • Observes fieldwork for a variety of surveys by ensuring proper record keeping, timekeeping, and job expense reporting.

    • Contributes and reviews CADD drafting, computations, records research, reduction of field collected data, for project tasks and delivery

    • Follows traffic control and safety procedures for a variety of surveying and construction operations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.

    • Ensures comprehensive knowledge of and familiarity with client contacts, working to develop relationships with governmental and regulatory agencies.

    • Identifies opportunities for improving technician training courses and contribute to creation of course content to ensure industry-proven best practices are being introduced to all employees.

    • Contributes to the administration and successful execution of technician training courses by drafting, preparing, compiling, and delivering educational materials, handbooks, and regulatory guidance for new technicians.

    You’ll thrive here if you have

    • 5+ years' experience with strong math and communication skills.

    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to travel 75% or greater.

    • Ability to adhere to strict safety and quality standards; Ability to pass drug tests and background checks.

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds up ladders and over uneven ground.

    • Project planning, monitoring, and reporting.

    • Survey control using GPS and TPS; data collection using GPS, TPS, 3D Laser Scanning, and Photogrammetric technologies.

    • Post-processing, QA/QC, and deliverable generation.

    • Boundary, topographic survey and mapping, and construction staking experience.

    • Knowledge of survey equipment operation and maintenance; ability to work independently; LSIT or PLS.
